INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the Housatonic Valley River Trail
web site! The Trail starts on the Still River in Danbury,
CT and winds north on the Still through Brookfield, CT to
the Housatonic River in New Milford, CT. Then it proceeds
south on the Housatonic, thru Lake Lillinonah, past Newtown
to Monroe.
HVCEO serves as sponsor for both the River Trail web site
and River Trail Manager Peg
Daley. Mrs. Daley
provides planning assistance to the many public and private
participants working together to develop and maintain the
River Trail and adjacent Still River Greenway.
A model of corporate participation is that of Danbury's MannKind
Corporation, a leading biopharmaceutical company. Amongst
its other Trail supportive activities MannKind has produced
an educational PowerPoint presentation entitled MannKind,
Danbury and the Still River: Environmental Coexistence
(2.7 mb).
And
for an example of enthused citizen involvement, check out
the Still
River Greenway Bike Path Update by the Brookfield
Recreation Enhancement Council.

Supporting the Management Plan are the following five detailed
geographic plans in which municipal and volunteer contributions
are recognized:
--- 1.

--- 2.
Plan for Still River in Brookfield
--- 3.
Plan for Still River in New Milford
--- 4.
Plan for Housatonic River thru New Milford
--- 5.
